Disregard the previous posts I’ve made on this topic. For awhile it was hit and miss between Input Mapper, DS4Window and others. Each seemed to break in different ways as Windows 10 was fresh.
DS4Windows has been picked up by another developer and he is carrying the torch well. DS4Windows is fully functional in Windows 10 and supports exclusive mode without any issues.

This program works right out of the box now, no issues, no magic required. So I will forego a long explanation and just suggest one plays with it.
